Hey Reader–

The sixty-second prayer your preschooler can actually do

We talked Tuesday about what it really means to build a faith-filled home — and spoiler: it's a lot less structured than you've been picturing. Today I want to bring it all the way down to the ground. Carpet-level. Where your actual kids actually are.

This week's Thursday episode is all about what praying with your kids actually looks like when nothing goes according to plan — and I want you to listen to it this weekend while you try what's in this email.

This Week's Focus

"Talk about Him when you sit at home and when you walk along the road." Deuteronomy 6:7

This weekend — in the car, at the table, on a walk, or right in the middle of whatever your Saturday actually looks like — ask this: "Do you know why we talk to God? What do you think?"

Let them go. There is no wrong answer here — and honestly? Some of the best things you will ever hear will come out of a four-year-old who has never thought about this before. Don't correct it. Don't redirect it. Just receive it.

Whatever they say, they just made God part of the conversation. That's the whole win. You don't need more than that.

YOUR FOLLOW-UP

"Yeah. I think so too. We talk to God because He actually listens — like really listens. Not just pretend listens. And the cool thing is, we don't have to wait for something big to happen. We can just talk to Him right now, about whatever's happening right now."

End your moment with a quick BAM. Let your kids fill in the blanks and help then when needed.

B — Be Honest

God, we want to be honest — sometimes talking to You feels a little strange because we can’t see You. But we know You’re listening.

A — Ask

We’re asking You to help us feel You close — especially when things get hard or noisy or confusing.

M — Magnify

And God, You are always there. Even when we forget to look. We think that’s amazing. Amen.

You just created a faith space. Not a perfect one. Not a quiet one. But a real one. And your kids will carry something from that moment even if they can't say what it is yet. You're laying the first bricks. That's not nothing. That's everything.

This week on the Faith-Filled Home Podcast: What Praying With Your Kids Actually Looks Like (When Nothing Goes According to Plan). I'm walking through exactly how to bring prayer into the ordinary moments — and the whole BAM framework to make it something your kids can actually do. Listen here:

You don't need a perfect moment. You just need to reach for God out loud, in front of your kids, today.

I will see you on the porch. 💜

P.S.Hit reply and tell me — have you tried a BAM prayer with your kids yet? I want to hear how it went. Chaos and all.
