Love Doesn’t Excuse Misinformation.

How to set boundaries that protect your child and your peace.

Neuroaffirming parenting often means making bold choices, not just for your child, but for your entire family dynamic.

Sometimes it looks like skipping the family BBQ because someone “just has questions about vaccines.”

Sometimes it’s correcting the relative who insists your child is “just spoiled.”

Sometimes it’s grieving the fact that the people who should be your biggest supporters just… aren’t. And that’s okay.

Because being a neuroaffirming parent means this:

  • You choose truth over tradition.
  • You choose respect over keeping the peace.
  • You choose your child’s dignity over someone else’s comfort.

Boundaries aren’t about cutting people out. They’re about letting in only what aligns with the love, safety, and acceptance your child deserves.

If you’ve been struggling with family tension, you’re not alone.

Stay Mighty,

Poem: Aesthetics

They say they are doing this for the good of a child

But they’re actions aren’t helpful, not even mild

They’re calling them “threats” and take away the services

Provided to help them through their diagnosis

Now the denial of coverage and the reality of genetics

Doesn’t matter to them because of society’s aesthetics

This episode of The Be Mighty Mom Podcast dives deep into what it means to set boundaries as a disability parent, not just to protect your peace, but to choose love in its fiercest form.

When your child’s needs are high, the world often expects you to keep showing up to every party, every dinner, every request, no matter the cost. But the truth is, you are allowed to put your child first. Without apology. Without overexplaining. And without shrinking your truth to make others comfortable.

Be an Autism Ally

Why the Autistic Community Needs Us to Pass the Mic Hello Reader, When you become a mom to an autistic child, you get handed an unofficial job title that no one warned you about: advocate. Suddenly, you’re fighting with doctors, schools, insurance companies, and even family members just to make sure your child is seen, heard, and supported. It’s exhausting, but it’s also incredibly rewarding. You learn to speak louder than you ever thought possible. Advocacy isn’t just about speaking. It’s...

Reclaim Your Voice: The Roots of Silence

When You Aren’t Given a Voice, Reclaim It Anyway Hello Reader, As parents raising autistic kids, we are constantly tested. Our patience. Our threshold. Our ability to articulate a need in the middle of chaos. Yesterday, I found myself in one of those moments. My son was already overwhelmed, his little body tense, his voice rising with fear. And instead of being met with compassion, we were met with resistance. Multiple grown men stood their ground, dismissing us, their authority pressing down...
