🌭Spicier than the BBQ today | Sisterhood #9

Hey Reader

Happy Fourth of July Weekend!

As many families gather for BBQs, pool time, and fireworks, our family is celebrating with our favorite pastime: a trip to a theme park - as with most other holidays. It's just what we do. And I am here for it.

While there are many things happening in our country that, quite frankly, scare me... I keep reminding myself of Moses. The strength he had to obey God when others doubted him, the courage it took to face Pharaoh. He even argued with God and tried to get out of doing it all - but he still moved his feet.

Scary stories have existed for thousands of years. But within those stories, even current ones, there are heroes. There are people willing to stand up, speak up, and move their feet.

Each of us was put on this earth for a reason. Some to speak, some to take action, and some to pray. And each of those things holds incredible weight.

God moved and rescued the Hebrew slaves of Egypt because He heard the prayers of His people and was concerned.

Even if it feels like you aren't able to do more in this season of motherhood, prayer does move mountains. And God hears your cries.

"The Lord said, 'I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey.'" - (Exodus 3:7-8)

So while you may be spicier than the BBQ today, I hope you still find 250 years of America worth celebrating. Because in the midst of all the scary is hope.

P.S. — If you are struggling with holding on to hope, I want you to know God is here for you. I lost hope for many years. Take the time to CAST your anxieties to Him. Not sure what I am talking about? Reply to this email and I will send you the CAST Prayer guide.

ASH DION

Hi, I’m Ash. Mom of two, wife, and completely obsessed with Jesus. I grew up believing I was a good Christian, until watching my child suffer led to my faith unraveling. God showed up in my son's hospital room and I couldn't run faster into His arms. But don't take my word for it. Take His. If you are ready to find your faith and grow with God, then let's go God seeking.
